Blythswood Square

Overview

Blythswood Square, a 5 star hotel in Glasgow, houses 100 guest rooms including a penthouse, perfect for a special occasion, complete with its own private lift and terrace area. There will also be Glasgow's first luxury spa, a calming and understated space with wellness as the key focus. Not to mention a restaurant with a fun and relaxed atmosphere, the perfect place to enjoy delicious seasonally chosen and locally sourced food and inventive cocktails, and of course a bar or two, including The Rally Bar, which was named after the Monte Carlo Rally, which started out from Blythswood Square in 1955. There is also a 35 metre Salon featuring two original fireplaces, columns and cornicing with stunning views over Blythswood Square (one of the last remaining green spaces in the city centre) and a private screening room for up to 40 people, making it an ideal choice for corporate and social entertaining. This splendid, landmark property, commands one side of Blythswood Square, a lovely, green space in the centre of the city of Glasgow dates from 1823, and was previously the home of the Royal Scottish Automobile Club. This historic building has been lovingly transformed into a luxury five star hotel and spa, retaining some original architectural features, such as marble fireplaces, wood panelling and lofty, ornate ceilings, and against this aristocratic backdrop have applied sympathetic, rich, textural design.

As with all The Town House Collection hotels in Scotland (The Howard, The Bonham, Channings, The Edinburgh Residence), Blythswood Square represents the skilful and tasteful remodeling of a fine, period building into a 5 star boutique hotel with its own personality and style.

Blythswood Square is more than a hotel and is an exciting addition to Glasgow's city centre. Not only does it have 100 stunning guest rooms but it also houses an amazing spa, restaurant, bars (including the historic Rally Bar, cocktail bar and champagne bar) and private event areas, a true 5 star proposition.

Amongst the guest rooms you will find a range of room categories ranging from wee classics to The Blythswood Suite. Or why not treat yourself to The Penthouse. Whatever the occasion there is something for everyone.

Our luxury spa is a must when visiting us and you can choose one of our spa packages or simply visit us for a day of relaxation or an individual treatment, whatever the reason; the spa is an unmissable part of the Blythswood Square experience.

You are sure to fall in love with (or in) the luxury penthouse, which will occupy the whole of hotels top floor, formerly the RSAC staff quarters. This 5 star suite, with its own lift, terrace, private bar and dining room, hot tub and views over the rooftops of Glasgow city centre, will take your breath away.

The Rally Bar, named by the RSAC as Blythswood Square was one of eight starting points for the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally, has been restored to its former glory. It is a quirky feature of the events area, accessible to anyone organising private dining or business meetings.

The former ballroom, with its magisterial proportions, is Blythswood Squares 100-cover restaurant and cocktail bar. Guests and other visitors to Glasgow city centre can expect the atmosphere in the newly-designed space to be informal, relaxing and fun.

The 35 meter Salon is a perfect space for a quick bite to eat or a lazy afternoon tasting some delicious champagnes. With stunning views over one of the only green spaces in Glasgow's city centre, the salon has quickly become the place to be after a hard day at the office or an equally hard day at the shops!!
