Braemar Youth Hostel (SYHA)

21 Glenshee Road, Braemar, Aberdeenshire, AB35 5YQ

An impressive former shooting lodge, standing in extensive grounds in the heart of Cairngorms National Park, Braemar Youth Hostel is an ideal base for exploring Royal Deeside, with its castles and distilleries.

It’s also a great location for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy skiing and boarding at Glenshee and The Lecht and walking in the Cairngorms. Other activities include mountain biking, wildlife watching and golf. Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s Scottish home, is nearby (open between April-July).

The youth hostel is a mix of traditional and modern, with many homely touches, like big comfy sofas, a large self-catering kitchen and a spacious dining room. A wide range of rooms is available, including private and family rooms.

Dogs are now welcome at Braemar, for a small fee, when guests book a private room. Please notify us in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.
