Overview

The property is set in a beautiful location with stunning views over the hamlets and bays of Fladdabister and Ocraquoy, the island of Bressay, Breiwick and the North Sea.

Activities on the doorstep include bird watching, loch and sea fishing and peaceful coastal and hill walks. Within 10 minutes on foot you'll find amazing flora and fauna, geological delights, shingle beaches, ruins and much more - an explorer's paradise! Walk just a little further and the village of Cunningsburgh has a shop, community hall, pier, marina and 2 knitwear shops. Jump in the car and within 10 minutes you can be in Lerwick or on a ferry to the island of Mousa (home to the finest surviving example of a 2,000 year old Iron Age broch).

The property has been built with the guest in mind and contains everything you'll need for a wonderful visit to Shetland. Suited to those visiting on holiday or business. Brekka Lodge is an idyllic base to explore Shetland's unique and fascinating natural environment or simply relax. Brekka Lodge is split over the ground floor and upstairs of a new, high quality property.

The ground floor, with solid wooden floor throughout, comprises of:

Entrance Hall: ideal for keeping your outdoor clothing and footwear. A cupboard contains a washing machine, oil central heating boiler and storage. This area is also ideal for the indoor drying of clothes, if required.

Modern Kitchen: solid oak kitchen units, 'A' rated energy efficient integrated appliances including fridge, freezer, dishwasher, double electric oven, gas hob and extractor fan. In addition there is a microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and food processor. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality crockery, ovenware and utensils. The room also contains a contemporary oak table and chairs to seat six, plus highchair. Dishwashing will become a pleasure with the scenic coastal view.

Lounge: the views over the ancient lime kilns, the Bay of Fladdabister, island of Bressay and the North Sea provide a panoramic backdrop to this modern, quality furnished room. There is a chocolate brown leather suite and solid oak tv unit and bookcase containing literature of things to do and places to see in Shetland. An energy efficient LCD TV with Freeview, free wifi broadband, dvd player and hifi with integrated ipod docking station are also provided in addition to the games, dvds and family wet weather activities.

Up the beautiful solid oak staircase lies two well apportioned bedrooms and a bathroom.

All bedrooms are classic in design, with wool carpets, co-ordinating bedding and curtains, solid oak furniture, chair, lamps and hairdryer. The bedrooms can sleep up to 6 persons plus a cot. The rooms can be configured to suit your requirements, please contact us on info@selfcateringshetland.co.uk

South Bedroom: king sized bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, chair and chest of drawers. This room is spacious and can be made up with a cot and/or additional single oak guest bed. Views south towards the Bay and hamlet of Ocraquoy.

North Bedroom: two single beds, which can be made up into a super king sized doubled bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, chair and chest of drawers. The room can be made up with an additional single oak guest bed. Views north towards the island of Bressay and the hamlet of Fladdabister.

Landing: comfortable seating and sideboard containing extra towels and storage There is also a storage cupboard containing an iron and ironing board, high chair, stair gate and travel cot.

Bathroom: modern white suite with corner bath, toilet, sink and corner power shower. This room has a modern warm feel with karndean© floor, oil filled towel rail and contemporary wet wall. Complimentary Shetland Soap Company products are supplied for guests use. View over the lime kilns
