    Cairnfield is a traditional white painted former farm house built in the late 1870's and extended in the 1920s, and sleeps 10 people. There are 2 open fireplaces, and well behaved dogs are welcome. It is only a 4 minute walk to the sea,

    The approach is down an attractive farm lane, which leads into the old farmyard with plenty of parking space.

    There is a local bus service from the bottom of the lane, which runs both North and South.

    The main sitting room is spacious with an open fire and a bow window, with stunning views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre, and the mountains create a beautiful backdrop across the fields.
    Next door there is a small sitting room with a new flat screen television, Sky Freeview and a dvd player.

    The traditional farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, double stainless steel sink, belling hot cupboard and Moulinex mixer. There is a large kitchen table seating 10. Acoffee maker and cafetiere are also provided.


    The utility room off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble drier, second fridge/freezer and a small chest freezer, and off this room there is a cloakroom and walk-in shower room.


    The kitchen has a serving hatch to the dining room, which seats 10 people. The dining room also has an open fireplace.


    There are 2 x double, 2 x twin and 2 x single bedrooms accommodating 10 people.
    Both double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and there are two other bathrooms upstairs.


    Tha master bedroom has double aspect windows with breathaking views over Machrie Bay.


    Cairnfield has recently had installed double glazed windows, and a new electric central heating system, with radiators in every room. It is very efficient and can be set to individual needs.


    Outside there is a large enclosed garden with outside seating and wonderful views across the mountains and over the sea.
    There is also a BBQ available and outbuilding space for bicycles.
    Coal is provided at additional cost., and electricity usage is charged separately.

    Linen can be provided at an additional charge of £10 per person.
    Well behaved dogs are welcome.
    Broadband internet service is provided by arrangement at an additional cost.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From Tourist Information Centre at Brodick turn right, through the village, past the primary school and museum. At the forked junction, take  the left fork signposted Blackwaterfoot. After 7 miles turn right at the junction by stone letter box signposted Machrie. Keep on this road unil you reach the sea, turn left past golf course over river, past the car park for the standing stone monuments.Cairnfield is the 3rd drive on left.

    Getting there by railway:- Travel from Glasgow Central station to Ardrossan Harbour. Ferry crossing to Brodick. Leave pier turn right on to main road straight through Brodick take B880 signposted Blackwaterfoot and Lochranza after 3-4 miles fork right by stone letter box keep on this road until you reach the sea, turn past golf course over River - Cairnfield 800 yards on left.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Prestwick airport travel on the A79 then the A78 to Ardrossan. Take ferry to Brodick. From the pier at Brodick take B880 signposted Blackwaterfoot and Lochranza after 3-4 miles fork right by stone letter box keep on this road unil you reach the sea, turn left past golf course over River - Cairnfield 800 yards on left.

    Getting there by ferry:- Leave pier turn right on to main road straight through Brodick take B880 signposted Blackwaterfoot and Lochranza after 3-4 miles fork right by stone letter box keep on this road until you reach the sea, turn past golf course over River - Cairnfield 800 yards on left.
