Carberry Tower sits majestically in 35 acres of manicured lawns and landscaped grounds; an oasis of calm and tranquillity that provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
At the same time the Tower also offers culture and contemporary elegance, being only seven miles from the buzzing heart of Edinburgh with its vibrant bars, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions.
Over 450 years old, it has seen its fair share of history – Mary Queen of Scots surrendered to her rebellious nobles directly in front of the tower back in 1567, even Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret stayed here on several occasions.
Much of the original character has been retained and little has changed since the days of the Elphinstone family; boasting ornate carvings, impressive staircase, period fireplaces, wood panelling, stained glass windows and quirky architectural features at every turn. Recently refurbished, this traditional Scottish hotel now provides a variety of facilities including the Ceilidh Hall, Whisky Bar, Snooker Room, Private Chapel and four conference rooms; making it an ideal venue for short breaks, or longer holidays.
