Nestling below the hills along the Strond/Borrisdale road, looking out over the Carminish Islands across the Sound of Harris towards Berneray and North Uist, Carminish House provides an ideal central base for anyone visiting the Outer Hebrides.

Public Transport Directions

From the nearest information centre:- From Tarbert turn south on the A859, travel for approximately 20 miles until you reach Leverburgh signposted An-T-Ob. Travel through Leverburgh taking the right turn towards the ferry terminal then take the first turn to your left onto Ferry Road. Proceed along Ferry Road turn first left onto Strond where you will see the signpost for Carminish House. Follow this road until reaching the cattle grid; Carminish House is on your left.

Getting there by aeroplane:- From Stornoway take A859 for 60 miles signposted Tarbert, then continue to Leverburgh An-T-Ob.

Getting there by ferry:- From Leverburgh on leaving the pier, take first right turn onto Ferry Road, then first right onto Strond where you will see the signpost for Carminish House. Follow this road until reaching the cattle grid, Carminish House is on your left.
