Cauldhame - Orkney

Overview

This cottage and barn has been tastefully renovated in 2006, offering quality accommodation for up to eight with its own individual style. There is a track through the farmland which takes you along the coast to two beautiful beaches, within a ten minute walk.

Homely with quality and outstanding value for money. Oak and flag stone floors and traditional stone features throughout with underfloor heating. The wood/solid fuel stove can be lit for extra warmth. The Garden room sits at the entrance with it's gable end window and flag floor and mezzanine above. This offers a fabulous area to relax and absorb the easterly seascape and headlands - enjoy our long light Orkney nights.

Leading into the main part of the cottage, the kitchen/dining room/lounge is open plan. The beech with steel finish kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, electric food processor and gas hob.

The stairs lead from the lounge up to two charming attic single bedrooms. Leading off the upstairs landing, the mezzanine (above the garden room) offers a perfect and quirky vantage point to relax and take in the expanse of sea, sky and sunsets (got to be seen to be believed!).

There are three downstairs bedrooms in the old barn part of the property. One king size, one double and one twin all with built-in mirrored wardrobes and TV. There is a bathroom with an offset corner shower bath and shower room with power showers.

Outside, relax with friends in the front garden. The expansive stone yard offers private parking and secure scope for children to play. There may be onlookers at a distance but only the four-footed variety!

The owners hope to develop stables and offer livery and grazing in 2007 so that you can bring your horse too!
