Situated on the B7000, 4 miles from the village of St John's Town of Dalry, with its two pubs, shop, post office, library and church, all amenities are close to hand. Dating back over 200 years until recently this property was a two up two down shepherd's cottage. In 2011 it was renovated and is now double its original size, creating a fabulous holiday house whist still maintaining its charm and some original features. Sleeping 6 to 8 people , with room for a cot and folding bed in 3 of the bedrooms it could accommodate 2 families or as a weekend away for couples. If you wanted to be really indulgent you could book the house for a romantic getaway for two and have all that lovely space to yourselves and cuddle up infront of the log-burning stove in the evening.
As mentioned earlier Cleughbrae is part of Glenhowl Farm which has 350 acres of land. You will see lots of hardy Blackfaced Sheep. And Galloway Cattle in the fields surrounding the cottage, incidentally we have the oldest herd of this breed in the world.
Cleughbrae Cottage is finished to a high standard throughout with wood effect flooring or tiles on the ground floor and fully carpeted upstairs apart from the bathroom.
