Cnoc A' Chlachain

Cnoc a Chlachain is situated in the quiet hamlet of Collam, 7 miles from Tarbert, the main town on Harris.

Built in 2006 as a family holiday home, the cottage has uninterrupted views across the Minch to the Isle of Skye and is an excellent setting in which to relax and appreciate the tranquillity of the island atmosphere. Visitors to Cnoc a Chlachain will find a comfortable base from which to enjoy activities such as walking, climbing, fishing, visiting sites of historic interest, outings to the islands beautiful beaches, having a round of golf in spectacular surroundings or just winding down by the sea or nearby loch.
Cnoc a Chlachain is situated on the picturesque East coast of Harris about 15 minutes drive South from the ferry port of Tarbert. The house location provides views over Loch Chollaim across the sea to Skye and in the other direction to Loch Mhic Neacail and the hills. The rocky coastline is deeply indented by the sea and provides a restful location in which to relax and soak up the islands peaceful atmosphere. The spectacular West coast sandy beaches such as Luskentyre and Scarista are around 20 minutes drive away. For those without cars the bus service to Tarbert passes several times per day and the house provides an ideal base from which to explore the island by bicycle.

The house is equipped with all modern conveniences and comprises a spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area offering open views of the coastline. A multi-fuel stove provides a cosy atmosphere for days spent at base reading or enjoying the views. The ground floor also contains a utility room, shower room, double and single bedrooms whilst the upper floor has a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. An external store is available for bicycle storage whilst a picnic bench and patio provides a splendid setting for al fresco dining or sunbathing on the brighter days.

The tarriff includes coal and electricity and the telephone is operated on an honesty basis.

Between May and September the property has a minimum weekly let from Friday 4pm - Friday 10am. From October to April, shorter breaks may be negotiated. Tariff May-Sep £400, Oct-Apr £250.
