A warm and comfortable traditional detached holiday croft on the beautiful far north coast of Scotland
A warm and comfortable traditional detached holiday croft on the beautiful far north coast of Scotland. Corner House is a warm, cosy and comfortable detached traditional croft cottage enjoying open views along the valley of Skerray and to Torrisdale Beach in the distance, and across the ocean to the Orkney Islands on a clear day.
The cottage accommodates four people in two good sized bedrooms and a further double sofa bed. The kitchen diner is well equipped with all necessary facilities. Corner House also boasts an electric AGA which often becomes the central focal point of the house. If you have never cooked on an AGA before this will certainly be a new and rewarding experience in itself. The tiled entrance hall with its under-floor heating offers access to the property from the front, where there is ample parking for at least three vehicles. This leads to the luxury fully tiled bathroom which also offers under-floor heating and is fully equipped with a free-standing luxurious bath for those wanting to relax and unwind with a hot soak and chilled glass of wine and a separate power shower for those keen to get a move on and enjoy all that the area has to offer. For those requiring more formal dining arrangements, there is a separate dining room with extendable dining table which can accommodate 6 plus adults. The cosy wood beamed lounge is equipped with a multi-fuel stove, flat screen tv with sky; hi-fi; ipod docking station, wi-fi, books and games.
Outside to the rear of the property there is a large garden (circa 1 acre) bounded by a stock-proof fence affording dog owner peace of mind that their beloved pet can securely investigate unattended.
Corner House is located in close proximity to several outstandingly beautiful quiet beaches including our most local beach Torrisdale Bay, which can just be seen from the property and has just recently been sighted by the BBC's Coast presenter Neil Oliver as his number one favourite UK beach !!!
For those wishing to dine out at the end of a perfect days exploring of this magnificently beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands, The Borgie Lodge (3 miles) offers a full a-la-carte menu and bar meals along with a selection of fine beers, wines and spirits. Furthermore, there is comparable dining at the nearby Bettyhill Hotel (currently under re-furbishment - 5miles), and at the Tongue Hotel and Ben Loyal Hotel in nearby Tongue (6 miles).
In Skerray there is a unique post office offering usual post offices services and the basic necessities. However, nearby Bettyhill has several convenience stores. Slightly further afield, Thurso (20 miles) offers a Tesco supermarket (delivery service available). There are also doctors, hospital, vets and further shopping also available.
