Craigard House Hotel

Overview

Craigard House Hotel occupies an imposing position overlooking Campbeltown Loch (already two famous songs - and this is only the first paragraph!).

A recently converted Victorian mansion with an interesting and varied history, the Craigard House Hotel offers a friendly and informal stay, in comfortable and welcoming rooms, all with fully tiled en suite bathrooms with bath and shower, Freesat and Sky TV and Free WiFi.

Most of the bedrooms have stunning views over Campbeltown Loch - with our South-facing location offering panoramic vistas of the sunrise and sunset. The range of rooms varies from one single room, through standard double rooms, to large family rooms containing a double bed and either one or two single beds. We also have a Four Poster Junior Suite, with a sitting and dining area, and a magnificent bow window - ideally placed to take in the wonderful view. All bedrooms are well-appointed, with fully-tiled en-suite bathrooms including bath, shower, huge, fluffy towels, bathrobes, comprehensive welcome tray, mineral waters and Neutrogena toiletries.

The Lochside Restaurant offers excellent cuisine - lovingly prepared by Head Chef, Stephen Hampson, and his team. All food is freshly prepared - with home-made bread, flavoured with our own herbs; and desserts with our own orchard fruit and beloved Sticky Toffee Pudding! There is an ever-changing a la carte menu, and daily specials, including freshly caught seafood and shellfish from local boats - such as Loch Fyne Langoustines, Scallops and Mussels; Turbot, Monkfish, Sea Bass, Dover Sole, Halibut; Smoked and Roast Salmon, Mussels, Haddock and Kippers from the Old Smokehouse; free range eggs, and vegetables from High Bellochantuy Farm; Lamb and Beef from Ifferdale Farm and Pork from Killocraw Farm. In the lounge, local Real Ales from Arran and Loch Fyne, sit happily alongside the fine old and new world wine list and range of Malt Whiskies, including a number of Springbank and Glen Scotia Campbeltown Malts. Stunning views make the elegant Restaurant so popular, that it is advisable to book in advance!

Visitors travel from all over the world to play the renowned Classic Links Courses of Machrihanish GC (10% discount for Craigard Guests) and Machrihanish Dunes GC. Dunaverty GC is also a fine challenge, with wonderful scenic views on a beautifully kept links course.

Kintyre is a beautiful peninsular, with island views to South, East and West. Whether your interest is scenic beauty, golf, walking the Kintyre Way, mountain biking, Malt Whisky, ornithology, competitive running, or any of the multitude of watersports and leisure activities the area has to offer, we will do our best to provide a comfortable base. It is even possible to hire the whole hotel. All arrangements can be made to suit your individual needs - from tee times to transport.

Our aim is to ensure that Craigard is the Hotel in which we would like to stay - if we were away from home.

We look forward to welcoming you,

Roger and Lori
