Overview

It is less than 1/2 mile from the ferry terminal, bus station and village centre with all its amenities. Creagan is ideally placed for exploring all areas of Harris and Lewis -sandy beaches of West Harris only 20 minutes drive away, Stornoway only 50 minutes drive away, and provides a comfortable base whether you're hillwalking, birdwatching, touring or just wanting to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet amidst beautiful scenery. Creagan sleeps 6 - 2 double rooms (1 ensuite) and 1 twin.

The kitchen has electric cooker, microwave and fridge freezer, with washing machine and tumble dryer in separate utility room.

The bathroom has bath and separate shower.

There is a dining room and a large comfortably furnished living room with satellite tv,DVD and video players and a music centre.A selection of DVDs, videos, CDs, books ,games and puzzles are provided for a rainy day!

There is also a broadband connection and a telephone which is operated on an honesty basis.

Oil fired central heating, with additional electric fire in living room.

Towels,bedlinen, all heating and electric costs are included.A cot and highchair are available on request, free of charge.

Creagan has a fenced garden. Pets are welcome by arrangement.

Prices are £200 - £350 pw, according to the season.

TARBERT

Tarbert is less than 10 minutes walk away and has a Tourist Information centre,2 grocery shops, a post office and craft/gift shops which sell a variety of products including ones made from Harris Tweed.For eating out it offers bars,restaurants and cafes. There is also a swimming pool/leisure centre.


HARRIS

Harris has a unique landscape: it has the highest hills in the Outer Hebrides; along its west coast stretch amazing sandy beaches and the lush green machair with all its wildflowers; its eastern side is rocky and boulder strewn,pitted with little inland lochs and indented with craggy bays and giving superb views of Skye and the mainland of Scotland, as well as of seals basking on the rocks;North Harris is dominated by its hills, with ever changing views of the sea and islands, valleys and lochs; and everywhere you are conscious of "big skies"!

ACTIVITIES

Hillwalking - a recently upgraded network of paths has made the hills more accessible but one can also wander at will.

Bird and wildlife watching - especially sea birds, waders, birds of prey, including golden eagles; seals, otters, dolphins, rabbits galore and deer.

Boat trips to see the marine life and islands - including the remote island of St Kilda.

Golf - 9-hole course.

Local History- Rodel church, exhibitions at Seallam (genealogy centre),standing stones, traces of the Clearances,etc.

Swimming - in the pool for the less intrepid!

Touring - by car or bike.
