Creel Cottage - Orkney

Overlooking the seascapes and islands of Scapa Flow, and beyond to the hills of Hoy, Creel Cottage Flat is located in a very quiet, tranquil area providing peace and relaxation.

Bird life is abundant and seals, dolphins, porpoises and otters can be seen in the area.

Excellent walking starts from the doorstep. Enjoy a coastal walk to the sandy beach at Swanbister Bay, a circular walk incorporating the Orkneyinga Saga Centre or go for a more demanding walk among the Orphir hills. Your hosts are keen walkers and can provide guidance on many other Orkney walks.
As we are equidistant from both Kirkwall and Stromness we are ideally situated for exploring the Orkney Mainland with its archaeology, loch and sea fishing, diving, silver and craft trails, island hopping, walking or just unwinding. We are only 5 mins from Houton where you can take the car ferry over to Hoy to visit the war museum or to walk in the Hoy hills.
The flat has its own entrance and is located at the end of a private road with ample parking. Inside, the accommodation is cosy and welcoming. The fitted dining-kitchen includes pine dresser, electric cooker, fridge, and washing machine. The pine panelled bathroom has a three piece suite, an electric shower over the bath and a heated towel rail. The bedroom includes a double bed with electric blanket, bedside cupboards and wardrobe.

After a busy day, you can relax and enjoy the views from the south facing conservatory which has a comfortable sofa bed that could be used as a second bedroom, allowing the cottage to sleep 4 if required. There are books, magazines and games along with maps and lots of local information to help you plan your outings. You can also enjoy a meal at the local pub in Orphir Village only 1.5 miles from Creel Cottage.

Creel Cottage is non smoking and no pets are allowed. Prices range from £150 - £250 per week including electricity, all bed linen and towels
