Welcome to Craigengar Lodge, Crosswoodhill Farm Holiday Cottages near Edinburgh.

An owner's description is never as good as a guest's so here as a taster are two Guest Reviews plucked from TripAdvisor.  We hope they will tempt you to read more. Go first to the Trip Advisor link above.  Then we would urge you to  visit our own website ( again, a link is provided on this entry.)   There you will find a feast of information, including a Gallery Page of about 40 interior photos and lots of inspiring ideas for spending your time.  You will however need to contact us as owners for pricing information. Tell us your dates and the numbers in your party and we will get back to you very very soon.

Here goes with 2 reviews from 2012.

The only problem with this property is that once you have been here, you will never want to go anywhere else!! The standard of accomodation and friendly hostess are truely unique.
The setting is stunning - we particularly enjoyed looking out of the wall to ceiling windows as the sun set and watching the many sheep close in and huddle around the lights of the house.
The house itself is incredibly generous in size and despite being a party of 6 - we never felt on top of each other. In addition to this, despite the size, the property felt incredibly warm, cosy and homelike. We half expected Kevin McCloud to appear at any moment from one of the many walk in wardrobes. This property is truly a 'Grand Design'!! - Sarah & Trevor , UK
The highlight of our scottish sojourn this summer (2012), was our wonderful stay at the Craigengar House which is part of the CROSSWOODHILL FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES. The cottage turned out to be a complete home away from home and even more. 'G' has taken care of every little detail to make the experience a really warm one - from cute teddies and the kids' playthings to the rubber boots of sizes in case you would like to venture out to the open farm lands amongst the sheep and cattle. I could even find a tool box with all the necessary stuff, which I needed unexpectedly to take care of a condition with my camera! And the design of the house despite being technically very modern keeps the residents in perfect harmony with the natural amibience all around.

Our children had a gala time exploring the house and walking and running around the wide expanse of the farmland all around. The sheep grazing and prancing around added to their excitement.

The view out of the rear deck is simply stunning as you can see miles of green meadows to the end of the horizon and the reservoir on one side. We were also lucky to have even witnessed the shearing of sheep by the expert shepherds of the farm!

Thanks again to G and her husband for making our stay at the Craigengar Lodge one to cherish forever. "
Guests from Kuwait.
We look forward to exceeding your expectations.  Please come and enjoy Craigengar.
