    From the more traditionally furnished Wing to the stunning contemporary chic of Orlege, there's also Steading Cottage, a family favourite with downstairs bedrooms making holidaying easier for the less mobile in your party.  And hugely popular for up to 12 - 18 members of a family or group  is 5 STAR Craigengar Lodge, a stunning eco-friendly self-catering house up on the hill.  Just 35 minutes from Edinburgh's heart and you are surrounded by fields of sheep and the tranquillity of the Pentland Hills.

    Choose between these 4 award-winning properties on the farm: stylish contemporary open-plan living or more traditional comfort. All very family friendly, but two of them grand enough to appeal to those seeking luxury. 

    Central and underfloor heating and cosy multi-fuel stoves reflect the warmth of welcome guests receive here, endorsed on our own Crosswoodhill website which you can access from this page.     Ideally located between cities (Glasgow is only one hour away by car), this is a base from which you can radiate north, south, east and west to enjoy many of the major Scottish attractions. And if you need a day to re-charge your batteries, all the cottages are well supplied with books and games. A real home from home which has welcomed guests from all over the world, from romantics to families, business people to groups of friends. Wheelchair users, pet-lovers, babies and small children all go away with happy memories. Some guests try a different property each time before they settle on their favourite, and some never quite make up their minds about which they like best as they are all so different. It's worth taking time studying the detail of the individual properties as some score on things like bathrooms and others can boast better gardens.

    Most of the cottages have 3 bedrooms, but the more contemporary 5 STAR Orlege End, though sleeping up to 6, has more unusual sleeping arrangements. This stylish cottage has featured in national magazines. It is stunning.  5 STAR Craigengar has  5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.

    A car is essential. But being out of the city, there are no parking problems here. And, if you prefer, you can take the train into the cities from the station 6 miles away. Or drive in so far and then use Park & Ride. The cottages are plentifully supplied with tourist information.

    For the 3 smaller properties weekly Saturday to Saturday bookings are preferred however last minute short breaks will be considered and often attract a discount.  Late Offers are flagged up on the LATE OFFERS PAGE of the Crosswoodhill website,  as well as the Fivestar website which advertises Orlege and Craigengar exclusively.
