From the nearest information centre:- From Princes Street Tourist Information Centre Edinburgh: head West out of the City to reach the A70. Pass through Juniper Green & Currie and skirt Balerno Village. Keeping to A70, remain on this for a further 11 miles from outskirts of Edinburgh. Pass B7008 on right and one mile further on Crosswoodhill Farmhouse is on a sharp bend in an avenue of beech trees on right hand side.

Getting there by railway:- Nearest rail station is West Calder, 6 miles away, on one of the Edinburgh - Glasgow lines. A very useful station for day trips once here, but not useful as an arrival point as car hire is not easy from West Calder. Edinburgh Waverley is a 35 minute drive away and Haymarket about 30 mins. Crosswoodhill is 11 miles further, on A70 (1 mile past junction with B7008).

Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport drive west, taking A8. At roundabout take first exit onto M8 Motorway and exit at Junction 3 for Livingston. Take A899 dual carriageway and at very large roundabout a couple of miles further on, take third exit onto A71 signed WEST CALDER. At traffic lights take left turn onto B7008. 5 miles further on at T-junction turn right onto A70. Crosswoodhill is first house on right one mile along the A70. (approx. 30 minute drive ).



Getting there by ferry:- Rosyth ferry, North Queensferry. Approximately 20 miles, take forth bridge, then M8 motorway, leaving at junction 3 for Livingston. Take A899 dual carriageway through Livingston, then A71 in to West Calder. Once over railway bridge take B7008 on left for 5 miles. At T-Junction with A70 turn right. After 1 mile, Crosswoodhill is first house on right. From Glasgow airport (80 minutes drive): Take M8 in Edinburgh direction leave at junction 4. Follow road map and then link into detailed directions elsewhere for location of Crosswoodhill Farm.
