Cuidhe Leathain B & B has been awarded prestigious Gold Star status by Visit Scotland for excelling in customer care and hospitality. Traditional Highland house in the conservation area of Tobermory. Luxuriously appointed bedrooms
Cuidhe Leathain (pronounced Coo Lane and roughly translated from the Gaelic as MacLean's Corner) is a traditional Highland house within the conservation area of Old Tobermory. From being a family home in the 1890s, it became a grocer's and draper's and at one time was the home and surgery of Tobermory's doctor, who was also the dentist. Alan and Jeannette Hodson were regular visitors to Mull for more than 25 years before moving, 11 years ago, to their favourite place in the world. Cuidhe Leathain is now a luxurious award-winning B & B. The guest sitting room, dining room and super-king bedroom all have original Victorian fireplaces. On a chilly morning you will enjoy breakfast with a welcoming peat fire. Satellite television is available in the sitting room and bedrooms all have colour T.V/DVD. There is a secure garden to the rear of the house with picnic furniture and BBQ. Alan can provide information on eating-out, walking, driving, boat trips and tours and things to do - from whale watching and eagle spotting to traditional music. There is one bedroom with Super King bed. This room has sofa and overlooks the Sound of Mull. It has its own private bathroom with Victorian bath (bathrobes and slippers provided). The second bedroom has views over Tobermory to the south of the island. It has a King double bed and en-suite facilities. There is a third standard double room available, which is let for single occupancy. This room is let in conjunction with the adjacent Super King (e.g. party of three). It has h/c handbasin and shares the separate private bathroom of the Super King. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities as well as chocolates, shortbread and mineral waters. There is an extensive choice of breakfast, including full Scottish breakfast, smoked trout, kippers, fresh fruit, fruit compote and yoghurt. Free Wifi. Cuidhe Leathain is also the home of Fergus and Mungo (Scottish Bearded Collie dogs). We welcome well behaved dogs.
