Cuilcheanna House is an ideal base for touring the Highlands, including the Road to the Isles, Mallaig and Skye. The Corran ferry is just a couple of miles down the road giving you easy access to Ardgour and the Ardnamurchan peninsula. We are ideally situated between the ski ranges at Glencoe and Aonach Mor.
Cuilcheanna House is open all year and has been providing quality accommodation for over 50 years with many guests returning year after year. Accommodation is provided on a bed and breakfast basis. Fort Augustus, Loch Ness and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, are all within easy reach. Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are equally accessible. To the south lies Oban, gateway to the Isles, with its ferry links to Mull and Iona, while the stunning scenery around Ben Nevis, Rannoch Moor and Glencoe are on the doorstep.
There is an abundance of local wildlife and you may be lucky enough to spot roe deer, red squirrels, seals and otters, and of course experience the rich variety of bird life.
All rooms are en-suite with a view of either the loch or the hills. We have two twin rooms, one single and four doubles.
All the rooms are named after Hebridean islands. 'Mull' has a feature fireplace and a stunning bay window to the front of the house with a view overlooking the garden and bay.
Each room benefits from the following facilities:
-- Radio alarm clocks
-- Hairdryers
-- Hospitality tray with home-made biscuits and
fresh milk for your enjoyment.
A cot is available by prior arrangement.
Breakfast is prepared to order with vegetarian options available on request. A typical breakfast menu would include:
-- Selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts or
porridge
-- Full Scottish breakfast with bacon, sausages,
haggis, black pudding......the works!
-- Scrambled egg with smoked salmon
-- Toast, tea, coffee, fruit juice
Packed lunches can be provided by prior arrangement.
For dinner there is a wealth of good eating places within easy distances of Cuilcheanna House and we would be happy to make recommendations and bookings on your behalf.
Dogs welcome by prior arrangement. We make a nominal charge of £3.50 per dog per night for additional cleaning.
