Dee Cottage

Overview

The restoration of the Victorian house has been done with the utmost respect for original features, seamlessly blending the old with the new and making it beautiful throughout. Each of the two spacious and stylishly decorated bedrooms enjoy gorgeous views, overlooking the pretty garden and river. The twin room has a luxury en suite bathroom, with a bath and modern walk-in shower. Alternatively, the double room also has a modern en suite with a walk-in shower, but with a comfortable king-size bed as well. Both rooms are equipped with a flat screen TV, built-in DVD player, a hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities as standard. Ample parking and secure storage for bicycles and motor cycles is also provided.

Breakfast is served in the bright and airy conservatory overlooking the beautiful garden. Enjoy either a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast or try the locally caught smoked fish if you prefer, as well as a wide selection of delicious fruit, cereals, yogurts and preserves.

Dee Cottage is located a mere 1.5 miles from the centre of the Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright, so named because it is home to many artists and writers who are inspired by the beautiful light which illuminates the Solway Coast. Discover the history of the area at the Tolbooth Arts Centre, MacLellan's Castle, Broughton House and the Stewartry Museum. Alternatively, why not make the most of the great outdoors and go birdwatching along the Dee estuary or enjoy a round of golf at Kirkcudbright Golf Club? The region's quiet routes and varied cycling trails make it the perfect place for exploring on two wheels, and mountain biking enthusiasts will love the challenge of the nearby 7stanes mountain biking centres.
