The Doon, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway, DG6 4NS

Pleasantly located on the edge of Twynholm village near the picturesque fishing town of Kirkcudbright this beautiful cottage offers home-from-home comforts and is the perfect base for touring the lovely Solway coast.

The cottage was recently completely renovated. Some of the highlight features include a cosy open fire, stripped wood finishes as well as a pretty south facing garden at the front of the cottage - perfect for relaxing in after a fantastic day out.

The area abounds with wildlife and is ideal for walking in the Galloway Hills and glens and along the beautiful coastline with its many sandy beaches. There are also many opportunities nearby for excellent golfing, riding, fishing, cycling and birdwatching. Here you can also find out more about Twynholm's most famous son, Scottish racing driver, David Coulthard, at the museum which has an impressive collection of cars, trophies and racing paraphernalia.

All of the area's attractions and activities are highlighted in your welcome pack and the friendly and knowledgeable owners will be more than happy to help you plan your break. So whether you want to try traditional smoked fish from the Galloway Smokehouse at nearby Carsluith, see how ice cream is made at Cream o' Galloway, visit the High Street Gallery and Broughton House in Kirkcudbright or step back in time at Shambellie House costume museum then don't look any further than Doon Cottage.
