Druimard is a large family house in the heart of Portree, a fascinating and pretty town on the Isle of Skye. The house benefits from being within walking distance of the village square, cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, and endless visitor attractions. The front of the house has views of the Cuillin Mountains.
The house retains many of its original features with the addition of modern comforts and good quality furnishings. The spacious kitchen, with impressive 6 burner gas cooker, has an open plan layout leading through to spacious family T.V lounge with Sky TV, DVD player and Xbox games console.
Across the hall there is a further lounge with comfy leather couches and tub chairs, and stereo with I-pod dock. Double doors lead into a generous dining room, sitting up to 8.
Both lounges have patio doors leading out into the garden. Also downstairs in an additional W/C and laundry/utility room with washing machine and dryer.
The impressive staircase, one of the houses original features, ascends to four bedrooms and the large family bathroom with corner bath, separate walk in shower, and double sinks.
The master double room enjoys views over Portree Bay and of the Cuillin Mountains beyond. The master room also benefits from an en-suite bathroom with luxurious Jacuzzi spa bath. There is a further three bedrooms which include a double bedroom, twin bedded room, and a single room.
Druimard House has the option of additional accommodation for two, in its neighbouring cottage ‘Druimard Wee House’. Both properties can be rented separately or together.
Druimard Wee House is warm and welcoming holiday cottage, perfect for both couples and people travelling alone. Located centrally but privately in the vibrant town of Portree, this cottage apartment makes an ideal holiday base for visitors wishing to explore the Island. From here you can fully take advantage of the area's numerous outdoor pursuits, and enjoy the main attractions of Skye, which are all within walking or easy driving distance.
Druimard’s mature garden grounds are home to the three monkey puzzle trees – the South American guardian of all trees. Outdoors, you will also find a decked outdoor seating area and plenty of room for alfresco dining. From here you can relax in the peace and quiet, enjoying views of The Cuillin Mountains.
Portree village has many interesting shops selling local crafts and produce, and there is a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and bars, for lunch time and evening meals. For those who want to enjoy the outdoors, there are many enjoyable walks nearby, as well as boat trips from Portree Harbour, allowing you the opportunity to see Sea Eagles, dolphins and an abundance of other wildlife.
