Dunfallandy House

Overview

Close to Pitlochry and even closer to the theatre we are surrounded by everything Highland Perthshire has to offer. In a former life Dunfallandy House was a hotel, and those of you that remember wonderful, restful, stays within its walls will not be disappointed by a visit to its present re-incarnation as an equally well appointed guest house. Dunfallandy offers affordable charm and comfort and is a perfect place to celebrate that special occasion or just to have a relaxing short break or holiday in Pitlochry Perthshire, the adventure and activity playground of Scotland.

Set in three acres and ideally situated in a delightful country woodland location, yet close to Pitlochry town centre. All the beauty of Highland Perthshire is within easy reach- Blair Castle (of Blair Horse Trials fame) historic Killiecrankie and the Queens View. Stunning walking and fishing, and every outdoor activity and adventure pursuit imaginable, from white water rafting and canyoning, to clays and quad biking - and sensational 4 x 4 driving and highland safaris. A wonderful period country house of individual charm and character restored sympathetically retaining many of its lovely original features to provide delightful and very spacious ensuite accommodation. Dunfallandy House was built (circa) 1818 for Lieutenant -General Archibald Fergusson of Dunfallandy. The style is 'traditional contemporary', a soft, warm, and utterly relaxing ambience. Dunfallandy is a fine example of a Georgian house with spacious public rooms, and can offer the small hotel experience without the impersonality of a vast amount of staff.

From the moment you arrive at this personally run Guest House you cannot fail to appreciate the warmth, comfort and hospitality offered by your excellent and experienced hosts John and Stella Hughes, better known to many as former proprietors of the delightful little Struan Inn, near Blair Atholl a few years ago.

Guests are invariably delighted when they find our lovely Pitlochry guest house partly because of the convenience of being so close to the centre of Pitlochry yet in the country, but more so because of its charm and the high standards maintained. Eight delightful, large and spacious, well lit en-suite rooms have all the amenities discerning business and leisure travellers to Pitlochry and Perthshire could expect and wish for.

Go on some sensational sightseeing (and wildlife) tours. Or leave your car idle in our private car park for the whole of your stay if you wish, and enjoy the country airs and a leisurely walk to Pitlochry town centre by day and even shorter stroll to the Theatre by night. Close by is some of the best and most reasonably priced restaurants and pubs in town, and easily accessible from the A9 whether travelling north or south. For those who are interested in their Fergusson "roots", what better place to stay than Dunfallandy House. Pay a visit to Moulin Kirk where there is wealth of information to be gleaned, visit the Dunfallandy Stone which is within walking distance of the house. We currently await our award from Visit Scotland that gives an indication of the standard of rooms and service that you should expect when you visit. Since we took over Dunfallandy House, we have been busy making improvements that we hope will result in ever increasing accolades and awards.
