Overview

The river Tweed which flows just south of the town is famous for its fly fishing for trout and salmon.

Other recreational facilities in the area are Mountain biking at the 7 stanes, cycling on the cycle paths that pass through the area, walking on the numerous local trail including a walk to the top of Pirn Hill. For Golfers there is a 9 hole course in the town, and at the nearby Cardrona there is a challenging 18 holes. The main street of the town has several shops including Caldwells Ice Cream shop which is also the local tourist information point. The Traquair Arms Hotel is the nearest restaurant/lounge to our apartment and is a popular spot for walkers for a refreshment or a meal. Our Apartment is on the first floor of a new building (2008) the lounge faces west which gives views over the surrounding hill. It is furnished with a leather two seater settee and matching love seat, nest of tables, a small chest of drawers and a flat screen TV, DVD and radio/CD player there is also a dining table with a seating for 4. The kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic hob, electric oven, dish washer, washer/dryer, mircrowave, toaster, filter coffee maker, electric kettle and fridge/freezer.

Both Bedrooms have double beds with a bedside tables and built in wardrobes. The master bedroom has a side board and a TV/DVD it is also has an ensuite w/c and shower cubicle.

The main bathroom has w/c, basin and bath.

The apartment has an entry phone system and the main hall and stairs are carperted.
