Earnknowe Holiday Cottages

Overview

Earnknowe was once a small farm and faces south, with spectacular views over Loch Earn to the mountains and Edinample Castle.

KINTYRE COTTAGE is a one-bedroom cottage, ideal for two people. It has a wood burner for cozy winter nights. MULL LODGE has two bedrooms with all accommodation on one level and a Disabled Category 3 rating.

MULL LODGE has a large shower room with a spacious living and kitchen area. There is a double and twin bedroom and storage heating. KINTYRE, our favorite cottage, is ideal for two people and has a double bedroom, shower room and a living room with kitchen area. It has ample electric heaters with a wood burning stove for winter nights.

Both the cottage and lodge face south with magnificent views over Loch Earn where ospreys can often be seen hunting for wild brown trout. Our self-catering accommodation, fully equipped, is maintained to a high standard and has a Visit Scotland 3 Star rating and available all year round. Car parking is next to each cottage with garden area adjacent.
AROUND EARNKNOWE HOLIDAY COTTAGE AND LODGE there is much to see and explore. You may see red squirrels and red deer around the cottages, a huge variety of garden birds and ospreys hunting on Loch Earn. You can walk down the old railway line behind the cottages to the village of Lochearnhead. There is fishing off our jetty and we can arrange for you to launch your boat at the Lochearnhead Watersport Centre. Boat hire is available nearby.

In the village of Lochearnhead, within easy walking distance, there is a small grocery shop and a Post Office with a free ATM machine. There are two good hotels that have bar and restaurant facilities.

Nearby is Killin with Loch Tay and the spectular Falls of Dochart with the Ben Lawers mountain range. Activities like golf can be played locally in Callander, St Fillans and Killin. There is a good value Perthshire Golf Ticket to be had. There is trout and salmon fishing on the Teith, Forth and Tay river systems but for the more energetic, activities include watersports on Loch Earn and Loch Tay or cycling - the Sustrans Route 7 runs past Lochearnhead. The Munros and Corbetts locally provide good walking and climbing and those include Ben Vorlich and Stuc 'a Chroin and above Killin, the Lawers range of mountains. For the children a visit to Auchingarrich Wildlife Park and Blair Drummond Safari Park is a must. There is horse riding available at Crieff and near Callander.
Towards Crieff there is the Famous Grouse Distillery and in Crieff itself an interesting Visitor Centre, glass paper weight making, Stuart Crystal for lovely gifts and an interesting Christmas Shop.

Your visit to this Perthshire self catering cottage and lodge accommodation on Loch Earn, in the Central Highlands of Scotland is one you will remember for a long time!!
