Edderton Inn

Overview

A warm welcome is always ensured, with a log burner in the lounge and a good selection of malt whiskies in the residents bar. Evening meals are available and our menu offers traditional homemade dishes while the restaurant offers views over the Struie Hills and Beinn Tharsuinn.

Our bedrooms are well appointed, all en-suite and offer digital tv, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers, our family room sleeps 4 and offers a large double room with adjoining bunk bed room. Edderton Inn also offers a fully accessible bedroom for wheelchair users which has en-suite (DDA compliant) bathroom facilities. A gun-safe in each room can store up to 3 rifles if required and a small drying room is also provided. Edderton Inn is situated in the small Ross-shire village of Edderton, nestling between the Dornoch Firth and the foothills of Beinn Tharsuinn and the Struie Hills. Located two miles from the main A9 trunk road it is ideally located for touring Northern Scotland with the north/north west coast approximately 1 hour's drive.

The village of Edderton is located on the pictish trail and the area has a number of buildings, stones and sites of historical interest. This part of Easter Ross has amongst the lowest rainfall in Scotland and is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast with golf, cycling, walking and stalking/wildfowling all within easy reach. Edderton is close to Dornoch (7 miles) and Tain (5 miles) and Inverness is only 1 hour's drive South.

The Inn was originally a nineteenth century crofthouse and was turned into a hotel in the 1970's. The current owners, Christopher and Isabella Wix completely refurbished the hotel in 2006 and it now offers modern, fresh en-suite accommodation, cosy residents lounge bar and a restaurant with magnificent views of the Struie Hills.

The Inn is also fully accessible for the disabled with flat access to residents bar and restaurant. Edderton Inn is situated next to the second oldest whisky distillery in Scotland - Balblair . Our lounge bar stocks the Balblair malts as well as a wide range of other malt whisky.

The Edderton Inn has been completely refurbished and has five en-suite bedrooms, three double rooms, one twin room (offers full disabled facilities) and a family room (double with adjoining bunk room) to sleep up to four. All the en-suites are newly fitted and are larger than average offering 3 piece white suites with power showers above the baths. One of the twin bedrooms is located on the ground floor and is fully accessible for the disabled. The ensuite meets DDA requirements, has a sunken shower for easy accessibility for user and helper. The decor offers a fresh, bright yet modern feel and all furniture is new which ensures a comfortable night's sleep.

All rooms contain TV with digital tv, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water and a hairdryer. A iron and ironing board are available for your use. Each room has a gun safe installed for the safe storage of firearms during the winter shooting/stalking season.
