M90 motorway (J8).

Hidden behind trees EDENSHEAD STABLES BED & BREAKFAST is a charming house on the edge of the village of GATESIDE in peaceful countryside yet central for exploring the Kingdom of Fife and beyond. Situated on the Fife/ Perthshire/ Kinross-shire border this special 5 star B&B is all on GROUND LEVEL and offers ample Private Parking, Safe Storage for sporting /cycling equipment and there are drying facilities.

Hosts John & Gill have welcomed GUESTS for 19 years and they give a very personal service offering comfort, good food and warm hospitality.

The 3 Guest Bedrooms , all ensuite, are well equipped and tastefully furnished. Each room overlooks the garden, the rich agricultural farmlands and beyond to the Lomond Hills.

The comfortable, elegant Guests’ Sitting Room offers the keen reader a wide choice of books & magazines. There are brochures, maps and local information to help plan the day ahead.

The 3 acre garden , including mature woodland is bordered by the River Eden and, as the house name suggests, the source of the river is about a mile or so to the west.

Here nature abounds – roe deer in the fields; squirrels, buzzards, an occasional heron and a variety of birds including pheasants, a yellow Hammer, woodpeckers, goldfinches, tits, a robin and recently, 2 partridges & 2 starlings to name a few.

Hanging baskets, fonts and troughs full of seasonal bulbs and plants are in the colourful Courtyard and Patio for all to enjoy !

Edenshead Stables B&B is just 3 miles from the M90 Motorway (J8 ) making it an ideal base to pursue Sporting Activities and many Visitor Attractions in all of Fife, Perthshire, Stirling & the Trossachs, the Angus Glens and Royal Deeside.

Edinburgh is 1 hour by car and Park & Ride.

Loch Leven in Kinross (7 miles) is a National Nature reserve with a Heritage Trail for walkers, The RSPB Vane Farm for Bird Watchers and a little pier to take a boat to Castle Island or to fish for Brown Trout in the Loch.

There are many fine Restaurants and Inns in Fife to suit all tastes and pockets. The nearby Gateside Inn offers good food within walking distance of the house.The famous Bein In is 3 miles over the hill.

Public Transport Directions

From St Andrews motor 22 miles along A91 passing through Cupar & Auchtermuchty until you reach Gateside. Edenshead Stables is halfway through village. Driveway on left, opposite the Gateside Inn and the A912 to Perth.Come through 2 stone pillars & down the tree- lined drive to the house.

Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport - head for Forth Road Bridge, join M90, exit at Junction 8. Take the A91 to St Andrews for 3 miles to village of Gateside. Driveway to Edenshead Stables is opposite the Gateside Inn.

From Glasgow Airport take the M80 to Kincardine Bridge. Make for the M90, exit at Junction 8. Take the A91 to St Andrews for 3 miles to village of Gateside. Driveway to Edenhead Stables is opposite the Gateside Inn.

From the North ( A9) join the M90 Motorway at Broxden Roundabout ( for Edinburgh) and exit motorway at Junction 9 (Bridge of Earn) join the A912 and follow signs for Glenfarg and Gateside - motor up through the glen and turn left at The Bein Inn a white coaching Inn . Motor a further 3 miles over the hill to the Juction. Cross the A91 and come through the stone pillars (the sign for Edenshead is just inside the pillars). Motor down the tree-lined drive to the house.

From Dundee. Cross the Tay Bridge and motor along the A92 to Melville Lodges roundabout ((approx 16 miles). Turn right on A91 (west )signposted Auchtermuchty and M90. Motoralong the A91 for 8 miles to Gateside. Edenshead Stables is halfway through the village. Driveway is opposite the A912 to Perth and the Gateside (A white building).Immediately turn left into the driveway and down the tree-lined drive to the house.
