Set on the outskirts of the lively market and whisky town of Elgin, the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club is the perfect base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands.
The hotel sits in acres of lush green land and offers a truly peaceful retreat. From the moment you arrive, our staff will make you feel welcome and help to make your stay as special as the location.
Guests can relax in the contemporary surroundings of the Darroch Restaurant and Lounge Bar. Choose between table d'hôte and a la carte menus in the restaurant or more informal dining from the lounge menu. We select the best of Scottish produce and feature local ingredients wherever possible. Our bar menu features over 40 single malts, so you can tour Speyside distilleries without leaving the hotel.
Guests at the Eight Acres can enjoy complimentary use of our extensive leisure club which has an indoor pool, spa bath and sauna, as well as a large gym which has just recently been refurbished. We also have a squash court and exercise studio which offers regular classes. Within the leisure club, the Sonas Spa offers spa treatments and beauty therapies including massage, waxing, manicure and pedicure.
When you choose to visit Elgin - there's lots to see and do; for families, couples and groups alike. If you enjoy a game of golf, play at one of the great Links courses at Lossiemouth and along the Moray coast, as well as at the nearby Elgin course.
At the very heart of whisky production in Scotland, Elgin is the perfect base to visit the distilleries of Speyside, many of which are open to the public. Take the Malt Whisky Trail, where you will have the opportunity to see the production processes and to buy products in specialist shops such as Gordon & MacPhail's renowned whisky and delicatessen store.
There is an abundance of wildlife and touring opportunities when you decide to visit the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club. Take the chance to go dolphin and seal spotting on the Moray Firth or go to the Cairngorm National Park and watch the herds of red deer and other local wildlife. Elgin is a great destination for families; there is the chance to ride a vintage diesel train on the Keith & Dufftown Railway, go mountain biking or just relax and play on extensive beaches.
There is also a variety of shopping opportunities including Johnstons Heritage Centre; Baxter's of Fochaber, Dean's of Huntly or Brodie Countryfare, some superb gift outlets, only a short drive away.
Experience one of the many castles or follow in the footsteps of Alexander Stewart (The Son of King Robert II), better known as "The Wolf of Badenoch", one of the most evil characters in Scotland's history. You can find out more about him at the magnificent ruins of Elgin Cathedral; the "Lantern of the North."
