Eilean Isay

Located in the village of Lusta overlooking Loch Bay in the beautiful Waternish peninsula Eilean Isay cottage sits in an elevated position with panoramic views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides.

Waternish is famous for its amazing sunsets which can be enjoyed from both bedrooms as well as the public rooms.

Eilean Isay is a traditional croft house built by the owners family which has been modernised whilst still retaining much of its original charm.

There are two public rooms - lounge with cosy wood burning stove and large dining room seating 6 people both with spectacular sea view. There is satellite tv in both rooms along with dvd/video players allowing children to watch their favourite dvds whilst adults can have their own choice of viewing in the lounge.

There is a large library of books, dvds, videos, games and puzzles available along with Maps, Skye walks as well as information on interesting places to visit on Skye.

The good sized kitchen is well fitted out with electric hob and oven, washing machine, good sized fridge freezer, microwave and all the necessary equipment whether cooking a dinner or just a snack.

Upstairs there are two spacious very comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin. All beds have electric blankets. In each bedroom, you will also find a very comfortable single fold down "Z" bed if required.

The large garden is fully enclosed (ideal for pets) along with garden furniture where you can breakfast out on the terrace whilst enjoying the magnificent views.

It is a short walk to the famous Stein Inn (the oldest Inn on Skye) where you can sample very reasonable bar food or sit out on the loch side enjoying your drink. There is also an excellent seafood restaurant in the village where you can sample the freshest locally caught seafood!

Waternish offers a variety of things to do and places to see including craft shops, exhibition sheepskin tannery with showroom, pottery, exciting boat trips out on the loch where if you are lucky, you may spot seals and dolphins making this an ideal base for couples and families alike.

Skye is a haven for wild-life and there are an abundance of lovely walks in the area with the historic Dunvegan Castle (ancestral seat of the clan MacLeod) just a short drive away. You will also find the beautiful white coral sands in Dunvegan which makes for a perfect day out for a picnic.

Heating is by electric panel heaters and storage heaters. Background storage heating is at no extra cost (October thru to April inclusive). Remainder of heating and electricity is payable by coin meter (£1). Meters will be topped up by £10 on arrival to allow guests to familiarise themselves with the coin meter which is located in the kitchen.
