Fernhill Hotel

Set in private gardens, overlooking the pretty but bustling harbour of Portpatrick, the Fernhill Hotel offers guests a relaxing break in a Victorian family-run hotel.

The gorgeous views of the village, harbour and Irish sea, are evident from the moment you step inside the front door. Choose from 36 spacious rooms, 27 within the main hotel and accommodation wing, and nine within the Stables House and Gardens House. All rooms include a television, bathrobes, tea and coffee facilities and room service is also available.

The area is famed for its seafood and there is nowhere better to enjoy creel-caught Mull of Galloway lobster than the hotel's award-winning restaurant, where you can enjoy fantastic harbour views as you savour the fresh local catch. For a real seafood treat, pre-book the six-course Lobster Sensation Menu.

Take time to explore the fascinating craft shops and friendly harbourside pubs of Portpatrick and head out on peaceful cliff-top walks to nearby ruined castles, calming bays and sandy beaches or tee off at the local golf course, only 400 yards from the hotel. The North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer, Fernhill's sister hotel, also offers free use of their leisure facilities to guests, including indoor pool, sauna, spa bath and its very own exclusive curling ice rink in the winter months.
