It is on the Cowal way within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park approx two miles from Lock Fyne in one direction and two miles to the shores of Loch Eck in the other providing nearby opportunities for birdwatching,water sports, and sea and loch fishing .
The walker is spoilt for choice with countless forest and coast walks within easy reach,some of which have mountain bike trails, the Forestry Commission Visitor Centre in Glenbranter can provide more details.
The river Cur runs behind the cottages and fishing permits are available from Purdies in Dunoon.The area is a haven for wildlife with red and roe deer,red squirrels,pine marten and otters seen in the surrounding countryside.
The accommodation is all on one level and simply but comfortably furnished it comprises of two double bedrooms one with a double bed the other with twin beds,bed linen,dishtowels and tablecloths are provided, guests are requested to please bring their own towels.
There is a cosy sitting/dining room with butterfly dining table,tv,radio,open fire and great views of the surrounding hills.The small kitchen is adequately equipped with fridge/freezer,microwave,electric oven and hob,the bathroom has a bath and a
over bath electric shower.There are small entrance halls at the back and front door,and a large cupboard off the kitchen housing a washing machine.Heating consists of electric storage heaters in the bedrooms and lounge,and an open fire also in the lounge a starter pack of firewood is supplied The kitchen and bathroom have electric fan heaters.
Electricity is included in rental.

The large garden is fully enclosed and dog friendly, it is surrounded by rough grazing land and is enclosed by stock fencing. It is mainly laid to lawn with flower beds,fruit trees ,wood shed,composting area and a picnic bench where the lovely sunsets can be enjoyed,there is another bench under the front window to enjoy more hill views.
There are two pubs close at hand the famous Creggans Inn at Strachur and the Clachan in the village,local restaurants can be found at the Creggans Inn,The Bay Cafe both in Strachur,and on the road to Otter Ferry Inver Cottage Restaurant.
Within a short drive are many areas of local interest Inveraray with its Castle,Whisky Shop,Inveraray Jail Museum and the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar at Cairndow.
Dunoon with many independent shops,two supermarkets a cinema and a swimming pool.
Benmore and Arkinglass botanic gardens.
Kilbride Bay near Tighnabruaich is a beautiful long sandy beach.
Parents of children should be aware that there is stock fencing around the property .There is also a pond in the adjoining cottage.
The owners use the adjoining cottage as a holiday home and are usually there to welcome you on your arrival.
