The house is approximately 300 yards from the seashore. Melvaig has a cafe bar/restaurant and another tea room nearby.
The area's attractions include Inverewe Gardens, whale-watching trips, salmon, trout and sea fishing, golf course and pony trekking. The coastline around Melvaig and to the Rua Reidgh Lighthouse (approx.4 miles) is rugged, a haven for nesting birds, seals, whales and otters. The house overlooks the sea and the Western Isles of Skye, Harris and Lewis. The Beinn Eighe Nature reserve and the Torridon mountains are just a short distance away.
All amenities including hotels, restaurants, shops, garage and dental surgery can be found in Gairloch. Fishing trips, guided walks and climbing available by prior arrangement.
The ground floor accommodation comprises a fully fitted modern kitchen, with sea views, well-equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, toaster etc. plus a good range of crockery and utensils.
Comfortable lounge/dining area, with electric fire, colour TV, video, and CD/radio/cassette player. The lounge windows overlook the sea and islands.
The bathroom has a modern suite with electric over-bath shower and a wall heater
The upper floor comprises of 2 bedrooms, with modern pine furniture, 1 with double bed and the other with twin beds.
The house is double glazed throughout and heated by storage heaters. There is a pay-phone in the lounge. The porch has space for outdoor clothing, boots etc. There is parking available for 2 cars at the side of the house. Outdoor lights onto the spacious decking in front of the house.
Sheets, pillowcases, bath towels and tea towels can be provided at an extra charge.
Electricity is metered and the amount due will be deducted from your retainer. The meter will be read on arrival and departure.
A deposit £100 per week is requested in advance, together with a retainer £60. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday. Bookings are from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 9.30am.
