Garemount Lodge

4 Star accommodation, adjoining attractive home, set in an acre of garden, overlooking the Gareloch, close to Loch Lomond. Sleeps 2.

Garemount Lodge is a good base for touring as it's four miles north of Helensburgh, close to Loch Lomond, and within easy reach of Stirling, Inveraray, the Trossachs, and Glasgow.  Sleeps 2.

The accommodation has a private entrance, with a small hall leading to a newly-refurbished open-plan kitchen/living-room with oak flooring and views of the loch. The kitchen is fully equipped including oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, iron, food mixer, and washing service.

The living area has a maple dining-table and chairs, a leather sofabed, easy-chair, and a feature-fireplace. There's Satellite T.V., DVD player with a selection of DVDs, Wireless Internet access, iPod dock, radio/CD-player, and plenty of holiday reading, plus lots of tourist information about this area.

We provide fresh flowers and a tea-tray with home-made cakes to welcome you.

Upstairs, the double-bedded room, with panoramic views of the Gareloch, has an antique four-piece suite, TV, clock/radio, dressing-gown & slippers, and hairdryer. It adjoins the bathroom, with full-size bath, over-bath electric shower, shaver point, towels, a selection of toiletries, and constant hot water.

A large cot is available. We provide all bedlinen, plus towels, tea-towels etc., gas central-heating and electricity.

The cottage has a patio with table and chairs, and there's ample car-parking space.

No smoking throughout.

We welcome well-behaved dogs (sorry, one dog only) who bring their own beds.  There are lots of good dog-walking places in this area.

Argyll and Bute is arguably Scotland's most scenic county with excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country.

Garemount Lodge is an ideal base for exploring. We're on the Clyde Sea Lochs Trail, adjoining the Loch Lomond National Park, a mile from the Conservation Village of Rhu (friendly pub, two hotels, post office and two village shops).

Helensburgh has two railway stations (south to Glasgow, east to Edinburgh, or north on the picturesque West Highland Line) and boasts many independent shops selling a variety of goods. There's Charles Rennie Mackintosh's masterpiece, The Hill House, restaurants, golf, tennis, bowling, putting, a swimming pool, fitness centre and a variety of pleasant walks. "The Waverley", Britain's last ocean-going paddle-steamer, sails from Helensburgh to the Kyles of Bute during the summer.

The Loch Lomond National Park with its visitor centre, shops, and tourism attractions is 15 minutes drive away.

Glasgow, one of Europe's top destination cities, is 25 miles away. Glasgow Airport is 20 miles distant whilst Edinburgh is an hour and three-quarters drive. Less than an hour away are the Trossachs (Rob Roy country), Stirling Castle, the William Wallace Monument, Blair Drummond Wildlife Park and Inveraray Castle.

There's sailing on the Gareloch and Shandon Country Pursuits, a short walk away, offers horse-riding lessons/trekking, clay-pigeon shooting, off-road driving, fishing or archery. From your windows, see sailing boats or even a submarine enroute to the Clyde Submarine Base at Faslane half a mile away.

Walkers and Cyclists welcome.

Rates from £260 to £390 per week inclusive.  Short Breaks available off season from £160 - £230.
