Garvally House is a substantial early Victorian detached house in the small town of Alloa : Rooms are spacious and elegant . The Guest Lounge and Dining Room are traditionally furnished while the bedrooms are of a more classic modern style, each with oversize beds. Garvally House is a warm comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
Bathrooms are en suite, have recently been refurbished with all finishings in Italian marble and high quality ceramics and have pumped high pressure duplex showers over oversize walk in shower enclosures.
All bathrooms have underfloor heating to take the chill off the marble of a morning.
We also have a reproduction Victorian roll top bath in a private bathroom also finished in Italian marble which is available for those who prefer a leisurely and luxurious soak.
Bedrooms are equipped with Flat screen TVs, Unlimited Superfast Fibre Optic Broadband WiFi and movies streamed on demand, Tea and real coffee making facilities and lots of the other things you would expect in 5 Star accommodation.
A very full breakfast is included in the prices listed and is prepared freshly to your order.  There is always a wide selection of  hot and cold food.
Dinner may be available by arrangement and can be ordered in advance on the booking website or when calling to make a reservation. It is not anticipated that more than a few guests will be in residence at any one time and excellent cuisine is prepared to order from the finest locally sourced produce reflecting both traditional local and international styles of cooking.
The house was built in 1857 as the residence of a successful local shipyard owner and entrepreneur. It is now a family run guest house providing accommodation of the very highest quality and whilst the house was built in a traditional style which reflected the status of it's first owner there is no lack of modern creature comforts and facilities which will appeal to today's discerning traveller. The elegance of times past combined with 21st century comfort and convenience.
The house sits within a walled garden.  There is ample  parking in the grounds and secure parking for cars and motor cycles behind high locked gates if required.
The walled garden is largely ornamental with many flowering shrubs and plants although substantial fruit and vegetable plots remain and are continually developed to provide fresh home grown produce for the kitchen. Excellent Food is a top priority at Garvally House.
Garvally House is situated in the small town of Alloa within the County of Clackmannanshire, Scotland's smallest county bounded by the mighty River Forth to the south and the imposing grandeur of the Ochil Hills to the north. We are an excellent base from which to explore central Scotland being less than an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, ten minutes from Stirling and close to motorways to explore further north.
Located only six miles from historic Stirling Castle and visible from the castle battlements but within easy reach of major transport routes, road, rail and airports and less than an hour from the major cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, and Dundee.
The significant towns and villages of Stirling, Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Doune, Dunblane, Auchterarder, Gleneagles, Falkirk, Linlithgow, Dunfermline, Muckhart, Dollar, Tillicoultry and Menstrie are all within a 30 minute drive.
It is an ideal base from which to explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs to the west and the Kingdom of Fife to the east all the way to the classic golf links of St Andrews and the picturesque Fife coast all within an hours drive..
Whether you are visiting Central Scotland for business or having a well deserved break, we are ideally located.
The house will  appeal to the business traveller who simply requires a quiet location with excellent facilities.
It will also appeal to those who are seeking a romantic break away from the bustle of the city in this peaceful semi rural location.
