Gavinburn Cottages are luxury and traditional Victorian self catering holiday cottages, sleeping up to 14 guests. Set high in the beautiful Kilpatrick Hills at the Clydeside village of Old Kilpatrick, 10 miles from Loch Lomond and Glasgow.
This location provides unrivalled and breathtaking views of the Clyde Estuary, the City of Glasgow and is only ten minutes from Loch Lomond. In fact, we are so proud of our rural location at Gavinburn that we offer the unique Gavinburn Guarantee: “That, if you can find better views of the area then we will refund the cost of your stay!” We can sleep upto 14 guests and offer all you need for a Scottish holiday to remember.
Gavinburn Cottages were built in the 1800s by Lord Blantyre and they now provide a unique location which allows you to enjoy all aspects of Scotland from the vibrant City of Glasgow to the stunning beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and our capital, Edinburgh, is under an hours’ drive away.
Not forgetting the excellent hill walking trails and mountain bike tracks in the spectacular Kilpatrick Hills, which are right on your doorstep. These trails and tracks are rated amongst the very best in Britain and if you walk or bike ride to the top of the nearby peak, Big Duncolm, you can actually see the whole width of Scotland.
We can arrange bike hire and have secure storage for your own bikes, clothing or equipment and a dedicated washing area for muddy boots, bikes and kids!
The Auchentoshan (Sleeps 8), The Glengoyne (Sleeps 4) and The Glenmorangie (Sleeps 2) are newly refurbished to the very highest standard and provide guests with everything they require for a relaxing and enjoyable break from log burning stoves and internet access to fluffy pillows and luxury beds. Each cottage has a welcome pack of all the essentials you need to get you started from locally sourced milk, bread, butter and jam to eggs, tea, coffee, Irn-Bru and square sausages and don’t forget the complimentary bottle of Malt Whisky or Champagne in each cottage! For really organised guests we can liaise with you in advance to arrange a full list of groceries etc. to keep you going for your whole stay. Or, to celebrate a special event or a special person why don’t we arrange for a luxury welcome gift, in the form of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers, to be waiting on arrival?
We also have everything you need for our smaller guests from cots and highchairs to DVDs, Wii’s, toys and acres of play areas, with chutes and swings etc.
