The View at Gavinburn Cottages

Gavinburn Cottages are luxury and traditional Victorian self catering holiday cottages, sleeping up to 14 guests. Set high in the beautiful Kilpatrick Hills at the Clydeside village of Old Kilpatrick, 10 miles from Loch Lomond and Glasgow.

This location provides unrivalled and breathtaking views of the Clyde Estuary, the City of Glasgow and is only ten minutes from Loch Lomond. In fact, we are so proud of our rural location at Gavinburn that we offer the unique Gavinburn Guarantee: “That, if you can find better views of the area then we will refund the cost of your stay!” We can sleep upto 14 guests and offer all you need for a Scottish holiday to remember.

Gavinburn Cottages were built in the 1800s by Lord Blantyre and they now provide a unique location which allows you to enjoy all aspects of Scotland from the vibrant City of Glasgow to the stunning beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and our capital, Edinburgh, is under an hours’ drive away.

Not forgetting the excellent hill walking trails and mountain bike tracks in the spectacular Kilpatrick Hills, which are right on your doorstep. These trails and tracks are rated amongst the very best in Britain and if you walk or bike ride to the top of the nearby peak, Big Duncolm, you can actually see the whole width of Scotland.
We can arrange bike hire and have secure storage for your own bikes, clothing or equipment and a dedicated washing area for muddy boots, bikes and kids!

The Auchentoshan (Sleeps 8), The Glengoyne (Sleeps 4) and The Glenmorangie (Sleeps 2) are newly refurbished to the very highest standard and provide guests with everything they require for a relaxing and enjoyable break from log burning stoves and internet access to fluffy pillows and luxury beds. We also provide only the finest cotton bed sheets and towels. Each cottage has a welcome pack of all the essentials you need to get you started from locally sourced milk, bread, butter and jam to eggs, tea, coffee, Irn-Bru and square sausages and don’t forget the complimentary bottle of Malt Whisky or Champagne in each cottage! For really organised guests we can liaise with you in advance to arrange a full list of groceries etc. to keep you going for your whole stay. Or, to celebrate a special event or a special person why don’t we arrange for a luxury welcome gift, in the form of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers, to be waiting on arrival?

We also have everything you need for our smaller guests from cots and highchairs to DVDs, Wii’s, toys and acres of play areas, with chutes and swings etc.

All cottages also have their own patio, garden and BBQ area, complete with patio furniture for alfresco dining and relaxing. Offering you the chance to take in the amazing views, scenery and local wildlife at your leisure.

Laundry facilities are provided on site, free of charge and there is ample car parking if you are entertaining visitors. We also welcome well behaved dogs and we have stabling and fields if you wish to bring your own horse!
Our unique location not only provides our guests with breathtaking views of the Clyde and Erskine Bridge but also a hill walking and mountain biking paradise, with trails to suit all abilities and ages. There’s also plenty of wildlife to spot on our hill trails and woodland walks.
There are ample tourism hotspots and other outdoor activities surrounding the cottages with easy access to Loch Lomond, Glasgow City Centre and Airport (all a mere 15 minutes away). This makes Gavinburn Cottages ideal for a wide range of guests, including; young couples, outdoor enthusiasts, families of all sizes, retired guests and practically anyone looking to get away for a cottage break in the Scottish countryside.
We offer four and three night midweek and weekend breaks along with fortnight and week long stays. Change over days are Mondays or Fridays but we are flexible if these days do not suit your plans. To celebrate our launch we have set our pricing tariffs at a very affordable level so please book early to avoid disappointment.
