Gillen Apartment, Stein Inn

Overview

For those independent souls, the Stein Inn offers a unique self-contained apartment with one bedroom.
This well-appointed residency has its own entrance (as well as an internal door into the Inn) and is much sought after by travellers as a home from home, but with all of the distinct advantages of having a first-rate inn on the doorstep! The apartment is situated to the rear of the Inn, which unfortunately means there isn't a sea view. However, the views from the bar are all of the sea!

All of the amenities one could wish for are available, including: washer / tumble-dryer, microwave, electric cooker, satellite television, stereo music centre and, of course, central heating. Linen and towels are also provided. There is also an drying cupboard if your walking boots (or anything else) gets a bit damp.

If you so wish all meals can be taken at the Inn.

Dogs are also welcome for a small additional charge.

The Inn is ideally situated to go exploring the Isle of Skye, with all the beauty it has to offer. We are only a short distance from Waternish Point and MacLeod's Maidens, and a bit further to Neist Point and its spectacular cliff walks and scenery. Within an hour you can be at the Trottenish Ridge or the Cuillin. So plenty of walking!! We have many walking books and maps to borrow. On the island there are also centres for other outdoor activities including canoeing and horse riding. Locally there is a dive centre in the village. Bikes can be hired in Portree.

For those who are not the energetic type there are shorter walks locally or visits to many attractions or craft shops. On Waternish alone we have an abundance of these, including Scotland's only sheep skin tannery.

The Inn and the apartment offer a holiday in the beautiful setting of Skye where you can do as much or as little as you want and where you can get a holiday from the mobile phone as well. They don't work in the Inn!
