Glenalmar

Overview

Situated close to the shore on tranquil Luce Bay and within easy walking distance of a sandy beach and country pub and restaurant, Glenalmar is an ideal base from which to tour Galloway. Perfect for families or a group of friends, accommodation is situated on one level and consists of three spacious bedrooms, bathroom with walk in shower and bath, sitting room with large bay window overlooking the sea and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area which leads onto a peaceful patio area. Dine inside or out, and take in fantastic views over the bay.

Centrally located, this is an ideal spot for touring western Galloway with Newton Stewart, Stranraer, Whithorn and Wigtown all within a half hour drive. Browse through the Book Town at Wigtown and enjoy a leisurely lunch before checking on the osprey family who return to nest here each year and are monitored by video link. Visit Whithorn and see relics from the Bronze Age and take a walk in St Ninian's footsteps to a magnificent cave used as a retreat in the 6th and 7th centuries. Further to the west are the renowned gardens at Castle Kennedy, Logan, Glenwhan and Ardwell which reflect the mild micro climate here with their impressive displays of tropical plants.
