The cottage is situated close to the sparkling Meggat Water in the heart of the rolling Eskdale hills just 10 miles northwest of the historic border town of Langholm. Surrounded by some of the finest upland scenery in Southern Scotland, the cottage offers stylish and comfortable accommodation with luxury soft furnishing, craftsman-built kitchen and open log fire as well as a private gardens and paved outdoor seating area. Popular with walkers, guests also enjoy watching amazing wildlife, learning about the traditional year-round activities of a traditional hill farm, or exploring the colourful history and archaeological features of the area.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From the south take the A7 from junction 44 of the M6 Motorway and continue to Langholm. Turn left on to the B709 in Langholm. Turn right at Bentpath, cross the river and turn left. After 1.5 miles bear right and continue up the Meggat Valley for 3 miles.

    From the north follow the A7 south from Edinburgh through Hawick to Langholm turning right on to the B709, then as above.

    Alternatively, from the M74 take the B7068 from Lockerbie to Langholm, turning left on to the B709 in Langholm.

    Getting there by railway:- There are mainline railway stations at Carlisle (26 miles) and Lockerbie (25 miles)
