    Glenshian has magnificent views across the Caledonian Canal of Ben Nevis and surrounding mountains  from the comfortable guest lounge and conservatory/dining room.  Guests have sole use of these rooms so you can sit and relax and watch all sorts of boats pass by and enjoy the ever changing light and colours of the landscape.

    The guest lounge has a TV and DVD player plus a large selection of books, dvd's games and jigsaws.  On the cooler days you can snuggle up to the  multi-fuel stove .

    There is a choice of restful  and tastefully decorated ground floor bedrooms all with en-suite facilities.

    Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 8.45.   A breakfast bag is provided for early risers. You can begin the day with a home-cooked breakfast or  select from our varied menu including vegetarian options.  Special diets also catered for. We use local produce where possible and homemade muesli, jams and marmalades. You can  admire the views and spot the many birds that visit our feeders too .

    Whether you are walking in the hills or picnicking at the beach  packed lunches  can be provided,  with prior notice. 

    Guests are welcome to explore and  use the gardens.  There is  an outside table and chairs on the patio. 

    Complimentary transfers are available from train and coach station by prior arrangement.

    The Great Glen Ways are just outside the garden gate for walking, cycling or canoeing/kayaking.

    There is plenty of off-road parking and secure storage for sports equipment.

    A short walk along the canal side leads to nearby bars and restaurants. A nice relaxing end to your day.

    We have a keen interest in wildlife and will be very pleased to give advice and information on where to watch and what to look for at particular times of the year.

    Rail/ steam enthusiasts are most welcome as we have an extensive library of information.

    We have a wide knowledge of the area and will ensure you get the most from your stay , be it one  or several  days, whatever your interest.

    Wifi is available and guests have access to a notebook.

    From the nearest information centre:- From Fort William take A82 going north towards Inverness to a large roundabout - take first junction for Mallaig on to A830.  Straight ahead at the traffic lights but you need to be in the righthand lane.  After canal bridge turn right on to B8004 to Gairlochy. Pass Moorings Hotel. Glenshian on right just before end of speed limit. Blue sign outside.

    Getting there by railway:- From Fort William leave station Morrisons side, taxi rank outside, ask for Glenshian, Banavie. Alternatively stay on the train and alight at Banavie Station and we will come and meet you with prior notice.   From Fort William.  take A.82 heading north  towards Inverness to a large roundabout - take first junction for Mallaig.  Straight ahead at the traffic lights but you need to be in the righthand lane.     Getting there by ferry:- Leave Mallaig on A830 to Fort William. After Corpach turn left on to B8004 to Gairlochy (just before Canal Bridge), pass Moorings Hotel. Glenshain on right just before end of speed limit.Blue sign outside.
