Glenuig Inn

Overview

Our combination of a traditional highland inn and modern, practical, accommodation sets us apart on this coast, only 35 miles from Fort William and just off the Road to the Isles.

Outside the Inn door is probably one of the best playgrounds on the West Coast of Scotland, so bring your boots, bikes and boats to really enjoy our stunning location beside the Sound of Arisaig Marine Conservation Area. En-suite rooms: Single, Twin, Double, 3, 4, 5 and 6 Person Family or Group Rooms with combinations of single, double and bunk beds - please ask, as we will almost certainly have rooms and combinations to accommodate everyone.

Bunkhouse: Our brand new Bunkhouse has 9 Single beds and a twin en-suite facility, so is ideal for individuals as well as groups on a budget.

All our food is home-cooked and made from ingredients as local, natural, healthy and organic as we can get. We create some great flavours with our Contemporary Scottish Dishes as well as influences and ideas from around the world.

At the Bar we have, probably, the widest range of natural drinks, including Real Ales & Ciders, not forgetting Natural Soft Drinks for kids, drivers and those just wanting a great tasting healthy fruit drink, and now even our mixers don't have any chemicals added! All our wines are organic, and of course we have a full top shelf of the finest malts, so let's drink to your health!

As Scotland's Leading Green Inn, we are doing quite a few other things to make your stay with us as natural, healthy and eco-friendly as we can.

We have renovated the Old Inn building, saving the walls which date from before 1746 when it was known to have been burnt down in retribution for assistance given to Bonnie Prince Charlie. We have incorporated these old walls, using them as thermal mass, to create a well insulated, comfortable, low carbon building, heated with wood-burners and underfloor heating and lit with super low energy lights.

We have installed solar hot water panels, a woodburner with a back boiler and we buy 100% green electricity. Our Inn building now runs on 100% renewable energy.

Whilst you are here; walk to some stunning white sandy beaches or get terrific views from our nearby Corbetts, go Sea Kayaking around the coast and into the nearby lochs, keep a watch for Eagles, Dolphins, Basking Sharks and many more great wildlife sightings.

We have tips and ideas for favourite places to explore; every photo on our website can be seen for real on a day trip from the Inn, mostly using just boots, bikes and boats . . .

After 2 years of making Glenuig Inn an exemplar of a Green Tourism business, we have received a Gold Award; we hope you will appreciate our efforts and enjoy the stunning area we live in and are striving to protect.
