    Greenlawns Guesthouse is an ideal base for your Highland holiday. The elegant Victorian villa built in 1893 for the owners of the Nairn Steam Laundry, sits in the West End of town some 400 mtrs from the beautiful, award winning Blue Flag beach. The house has 6 bedrooms, each individually and tastefully decorated. Rooms have a variety of configurations double/twin/single/family. Each room is en-suite, some with shower only, some with bath and shower over, and our newly renovated ground floor, room 8, has a separate bath and walk-in shower. All rooms are comfortably furnished with a mix of modern and antique furniture, but all the mod cons one expects from a 4 star guesthouse.

    The sunny and bright dining room has an eclectic mixture of antiques, and the individual tables for breakfast overlook the lovely gardens, patio area and koi pond. All ingredients on the extensive breakfast menu are sourced locally and freshly prepared for you. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know prior to your arrival so we can meet your needs.

    There are 2 ground floor bedrooms and 4 bedrooms on the first floor.The dining room, residents lounge and reception are located on ground floor. There is a multi-fuel stove in the lounge which is lit on cooler evenings and embraces guests with its relaxing warmth.
    Sheelagh is an amateur genealogist and may be able to answer some questions you may have about your local ancestors.

    The whole house is wi-fi and this is provided free of charge to guests.

    Road Directions

    From the A96 Aberdeen direction, enter Nairn town and turn down Albert Street just after the set of traffic lights by Somerfield store and the bus station. Drive about 400 metres and Greenlawns will be found on left hand side. Car park is on left hand side of house.
    From A96 Inverness direction, enter Nairn town and turn left down Albert Street just before first set of traffic lights. Drive 400 metres down and Greenlawns will be found on left hand side. Car park is on left hand side of house and if full parking is free on the street outside the house.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From the Nairn Community centre turn towards Inverness on the A96 and after the first set of traffic lights turn right down Albert Street. Greenlawns can be found about 400 metres on left hand side on corner of Seafield and Albert Streets. The car park is to be found on the left of the house.

    Getting there by railway:- Nairn railway station is on the Aberdeen-Inverness line.
    Taxis are available upon arrival or let us know before your arrival and we can provide a free pick up by car.
    Alternatively if you wish to walk to Greenlawns, exit the station and carry straight on the Cawdor Road/High Street until you see the Royal Bank of Scotland in front of you. Turn left in to Leopold Street and walk to traffic lights. Cross at lights and turn left. Albert Street will be found on right hand side. Walk about 400 metres down road and Greenlawns will be found on left hand side.


    Getting there by aeroplane:- Inverness Airport is 8 miles to the west of Nairn. Car hire and buses are available there. The buses run hourly on the half hour to Nairn daily except Sundays between the business hours. Taxis are also available for hire from the front of the terminal building.
