Rod and Moyra warmly welcome you to Hazlefield House located on the A711, 2 miles between the ancient villages of Auchencairn and Dundrennan on the spectacular Solway Coast. We are within 20 minutes of the market town of Castle Douglas to the east and the fishing port of Kirkcudbright to the west with the regional centre of Dumfries easily accessible on the A75.

Road Directions

Hazlefield House is approached from the east on the A75, signposted from the A74 to Stranraer and the Galloway Tourist Route, one exit after the Gretna Outlet Village.

Continue on the A75 past Dumfries and follow signs to Dalbeattie and then for Auchencairn (A711).

Once through Auchencairn village continue for about 2 miles and, after the Tourist Information-marked layby on your left , look out for a large white house on the left named 'Over Hazlefield'. Immediately indicate right and you will see 2 white bollards on your right on the grass verge on the bend - turn right and forward into the drive leading to Hazlefield House.

If you drive past the house there is another nearby layby on your left in which you can turn around and you will then see a second entrance to Hazlefield House on your left.

Public Transport Directions

Drivers, walkers, cyclists & bikers are all welcome at Hazlefield House - directions to get here are as above, whatever your mode of transport! There is a public bus service to Auchencairn (albeit infrequent!) from nearby towns of Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright, linking with the mainline railway station at Dumfries.
