Heatherbank Guesthouse

Guesthouse

Heatherbank, Upper Scotstown, Strontian, Highlands, PH36 4JB

Heatherbank is situated amidst stunning scenery and is ideally placed for exploring the Ardnamurchan and Morvern Peninsulas and as a stepping stone for ferries to Mull and the Small Isles. AWARDED 2012 TRIPADVISOR CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE

Comfortable rooms, a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast will set you up for a hard day's work or relaxation. Whether your interests are walking, cycling, canoeing, climbing, wildlife watching, photography, painting or visiting historic monuments there is something within easy reach for everyone. Heatherbank is a small, friendly guesthouse set in a peaceful location of six acres of croftland two miles above the village of Strontian on Loch Sunart.

We have six letting bedrooms. Five are en suite and the sixth has a private bathroom. All rooms have TV/DVD players and there is a selection of DVDs available. Tea/coffee making facilities, an iron and board and toiletries are also provided. All rooms have free wi-fi access.

There is a varied choice of home-cooked breakfast options and breakfast is served in a large airy dining room with panoramic views of the mountains, where you can also enjoy watching the birds on the feeders outside the windows.

There are many wildlife trips running locally and beautiful beaches with white sand only a few miles away. At the end of the peninsula is the Ardnamurchan lighthouse which is the most westerly point on the British mainland.
Red deer and black grouse are on the adjacent moorland and, if you are lucky you may see pine martens and wildcats. The heron regularly stalks our pond. From the Garbh Eilean wildlife hide otters, seals and occasionally eagles may be seen.

For walkers there are ten Corbetts within a ten mile radius, four of which can be seen from Heatherbank and, of course, the Nevis and Glencoe ranges are also within easy reach.

We have a wide selection of local information available to help you plan your day and (with advance notice) can provide you with a packed lunch to take with you.

There are several good eating places locally and we can book you a table on request. We can also provide you with a supper tray of cheese and biscuits to eat in your room. (Please order this at breakfast.)

And, last but by no means least, because we are on the hillside we normally have a breeze and this generally keeps us midge-free!

Heatherbank has recently been awarded a 2012 Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor.
