To see what others think of the Borders and Hendersyde have a look on www.mycottageholiday.co.uk/cottage/hendersyde-farm-cottages/
Hendersyde is our family farm, which lies between the River Tweed and Eden Water just 2 miles downstream from Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
Our three simple, four star, farm cottages, stand at the end of their own lane, in the middle of the farm, just five minutes from delightful Kelso!
Clean, comfy and well equipped, with central heating and cosy sitting room fires. Each cottage sleeps up to 4 people, in a twin and double bed room. There are discounts for couples, if only one of the bed rooms is used.
Broadband internet access is included - delicious suppers can be delivered too!
In walking distance of Kelso, two fields from the River Tweed and easy reach of the hills and coast. Nearby there are castles and keeps, abbeys and great houses, gardens and countryside, rivers and golf courses!
All in all it's a great position for exploring both sides of the Border Country or having a day in Edinburgh!
A bit about the Borders....
Kelso just has to be one of Scotland's most attractive country towns! Standing at the junction of The Tweed and Teviot Water, the cobbled market square is surrounded by a great selection local shops, galleries, places to eat and delightful river side walks.
There's always a buzz about the town with a great variety of events at The Border Union Show Ground. Activities and attractions at Floors Castle, National Hunt Racing, Kelso Civic Week, musical gatherings and The Farmers Market.
Nearby golf courses abound! The Roxburghe Championship Course, Kelso Golf Course and Race Course are just at the end of the farm road! The Hirsel Course and Country Park are only 8 miles away, at Coldstream.
Whether you would like to walk or ride this land of rivers and hills; stroll through gardens such as Dawyck, Kailzie by Peebles, where Osprey are shown live on web-cam. Or pop over the border to visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens in Northumberland.
Feel the history of castles, abbeys and great houses. Have a day in Edinburgh - or Newcastle.
Cycle quiet roads or hurtle down the mountain bike runs at Glentress, you'll certainly feel the glow!
From the stunning coast, St Abbs Head, Lindisfarne, The Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle, to the Border Hills, the space, light and views will take your breath away!
On a creative note - the Borders oozes creative talent! "Craftsmen" working with cashmere, wool, wood, glass, clay, metal, pencil and paint have found inspiration here. Over 80 local craft workshops, galleries and exhibitions welcome you! See the Crossing Borders link on our web site.
At the end of the day you can return to the warmth and comfort of Hendersyde, a genuine home from home!
