If arriving in Skye via the Skye road bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh, turn right at the roundabout at the end of bridge and proceed to Portree on the A87 (approx 30 miles), at Portree bear left to Uig, still on the A87, and approx 4 miles later take the left hand turn signposted to Dunvegan (A850). Hillcroft is about 4 miles from this junction on the RHS of the main road (NB do not turn into the road marked Treaslane, we are actually on the main road immediately beside this turn).
If taking the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale, drive from Armadale to Portree and then proceed as above.
NB - if you are using sat nav and do not want to go to Mallaig, please the sat nav for Kyle of Lochalsh as otherwise you will probably end up in Mallaig anyway!
Getting there by rail:- Take the train either from Inverness or Fort William to Kyle of Lochalsh, and then catch a bus to Portree. Then take bus from Portree to Dunvegan and alight at Treaslane. We are on the RHS of the road just after the bus stop.
Getting there by air:- Fly to Inverness airport which is about 6 miles east of inverness, take the airport bus to Inverness and then you can either catch a train or the bus to Portree. Train station and Bus station are located next to the Eastgate Centre. Take the train to Kyle of Lochalsh then bus to Portree as directed above. If travelling by bus from Inverness, then the bus comes directly to Portree (about 3 hour journey) then get local bus to Dunvegan and alight at Treaslane.
Getting there by ferry:- Ferry from Mallaig to Armadale, then drive north on theA851, turn left at the t-juntion with the A87 and proceed to Portree. Just after the school, take the road signposted to Uig (A87), then 4 miles along this road take the left fork signposted to Dunvegan (A850). We are about 4 miles along this road, immediately after the signpost for Treaslane. Do not turn right here, as we are the house on the right hand side immediately beside this turn.
