Holmlands Country House B & B

Overview

Although only a few minutes from Junction 14 of the M74 it is an ideal watering hole for people visiting the Highlands or Islands, whether on business or holiday. The rural setting and welcoming house makes this an oasis of peace before continuing your journey, either North or South.

Recently refurbished (March 2010), this house can offer bedrooms with period furnishings and modern, user friendly bathrooms. All rooms have views across the Clyde Valley or the garden.

Holmlands is open all year round and evening meals are served between 6 and 9pm, this facility is also open to non-residents(booking desirable).

Breakfast is served to suit the needs of the guests, so if you need an early start, or special dietry requirements, it is no problem.
Verena and Graham would like to welcome you to an oasis of peace just off the M74 in South Lanarkshire.

We are situated in a quiet rural location convenient for visiting Scottish Borders, Lanark, Biggar and Moffat. Glasgow and Edinburgh are within an hour's drive.
Built in 1903, this interesting Edwardian property sits in an acre of land surrounded by rolling hills of the Clyde Valley.

It is such a great place for a short break any time of year.

We welcome cyclists and motorcyclists, Holmlands is an ideal pit-stop' for cyclists on the Lands End to John O' Groats run and there is secure overnight parking for bicycles and Motorbikes.

Fly fishing is available on the Clyde River for wild Brown Trout and Grayling, permits can be purchased from the village Post Office in Crawford. Graham can assist with Fly Casting tuition if required. There is also wild brownie fishing to be had on the Camps Reservoir, (permits can be obtained from the Keepers Cottage on Camps Road).

The scenery is beautiful and interesting and many fantastic walks are to be experienced in this area.

Our breakfast has become legendary among our repeat guests, eggs are supplied from our own free range hens and they also like to welcome all our visitors!

Evening meals are available throughout the year, food is freshly prepared on site from local produce or from our own kitchen garden. Venison, game, chicken and beef are also sourced
locally. Vegetarian dishes are available and special dietry needs can be catered for.

There are four elegant bedrooms available to guests at Holmlands, they are twins or doubles and all offer:

En-suite facilities
Views of the gardens or the River Clyde
Tea and coffee-making facilities
A Colour Television with DVD player

All our guests are pampered with stylish bedrooms with period furniture and modern ensuite bathrooms.

Holmlands is open all year round and evening meals are served between 6 and 9pm, this facility is also open to non-residents (booking desirable).
