The Lodge at Horseshoe Bay on the beautiful Island of Kerrera is a restful, rural island retreat. Conveniently located in Argyll, Scotland the Island of Kerrera is a 5 minute ferry ride from Oban.
The Lodge sleeps 4 - 6 people in a double room, a twin room and a sofa bed. There is also a living area, a kitchen area and a bathroom, all fully equipped for your convenience ( see Facilities page for more details)
The Lodge costs £50 per night or £325 per week to rent.
The self catering Lodge is set in its' own enclosed garden and is only 100 metres from the shingle beach. The beach is sheltered and is great for all the family to play & paddle.
Dogs & other pets are welcome at the Lodge.Let us know your requirements when booking.
The lodge is non smoking.
The Island of Kerrera is unspoilt with a population of only 30 people. The serenity of the island is maintained by the fact that only island residents are allowed to drive a car on the island. Free car parking is available on the mainland at the ferry. Visitors to the Lodge have the option to be collected from and dropped off at the ferry ( by prior arrangement).If you wish to enjoy the walk from the ferry to the lodge then we can still collect your luggage and or shopping and deliver it to the Lodge to assist you.
The Lodge is situated adjacent to The Island Parrot Sanctuary. Visitors to the Lodge are welcome to have a free guided tour of the Sanctuary by prior arrangement. Donations are most welcome though!
The views from the Lodge and around Kerrera are stunning and the wildlife is abundant. You can see Golden Eagles, Hawks & Buzzards and hopefully dolphins in the bay. The bay is a safe anchorage if you have a boat & is a kayakers dream. The Lodge would be a perfect writers retreat, providing the peace and tranquillity with inspiring views over the sound of Kerrera.
The Island of Kerrera is only minutes by ferry & car from the town of Oban, also known as the 'Gateway to the Isles'; it is perfect for exploring the Inner Hebridean Isles: including Mull, Iona and Colonsay, with such spectacular days out to places like Gylen Castle, Duart Castle and Oban's very own Dunollie Castle. Oban has lots of activities for all to enjoy for adults and families alike, there are many places to eat, drink and shop, as well as a cinema and swimming pool, plus many other fun filled places to explore. Near Oban is the Oban Sealife Centre which is well worth a visit.
The Lodge is run by the Island Parrot Sanctuary, a registered charity SCO41254. All profits from the lodge go to this charity.
