Overview

This surprisingly spacious house, situated in the historic town of Stromness a short distance from the ferry terminal, was once the offices of a local fishing company, and has been recently converted to offer excellent modern accommodation for up to 4 guests. There is a non-smoking policy in this residence. As there is no garden, we regret that it is not suitable for pets. Although parking immediately adjacent to the house may be difficult at times, temporary parking for unloading etc is usually possible, and there are ample parking facilities nearby. Steps beside the house lead down to pay-parking, but free parking is available within 50 100 yards.
On the ground floor there is an attractive sitting room, with a colour television. The spacious kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with good quality crockery and cutlery, electric kettle, toaster, refrigerator, and washing machine/tumble drier. A radio-cassette/CD-player, and an interesting selection of books, together with board games, including cards, draughts, and chess, will help keep you amused should the weather be inconsiderate. The bathroom, with toilet and washbasin, has an additional wall heater. Upstairs, the double bedroom and twin bedroom both have views over the harbour area towards the Hoy hills. There is a shower room with toilet and washbasin. Bed linen and towels are provided for each guest at no extra cost. Duvets and pillows are anti-allergenic. Duvets are 2-layered and can be separated if required. Additional blankets are provided. A hair-drier, electric shaver adaptor, and radio-clock/alarm are provided. Heating on the ground floor is supplied by storage heaters, which, in cooler weather, will be switched on before your arrival. Upstairs there are oil-filled radiators, and an electric heater. There is a token-operated electricity meter, with up to £15 worth of free electricity per let. Groceries etc. can be ordered from local outlets prior to your arrival. Please contact us for details.
