Road Directions

From Stromness - follow the signs for Kirkwall, as you approach the town, continue down the hill to the roundabout and turn right into Pickaquoy Road at the petrol station. Follow this road past the supermarkets then turn right at the roundabout into Junction Road, take next right, signposted Orphir A964. Follow this road for 0.5mile then turn right at signpost "Orquil".

From St Margarets Hope - Having followed the signs, on entering Kirkwall pass the Highland Park Distillery, the road turns naturally to the left and down the Holm Branch, follow this road round past the Balfour Hospital then take the next left signposted Orphir A964. Follow this road for 0.5mile then turn right at signpost Orquil. Innisgarth has a white garden fence.

From the nearest information centre:- From the TIC - turn right into Junction Road, continue straight on at the mini - roundabout then take the next right signposted Orphir Road A964. Follow this road for 0.5mile then turn right at signpost "Orquil". Innisgarth has a white garden fence.

Getting there by railway:- By train you can travel to Thurso where a bus connects with the Scrabster ferry. Or to Aberdeen where the station is close to the harbour.

Getting there by aeroplane:- You can fly to Kirkwall Airport from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness. On leaving the airport follow the signs into Kirkwall; in the town turn left down Clay Loan then left at the foot into Junction Road, take the next right, signposted Orphir A964. Follow this road for 0.5mile then turn right into Orquil Road. Innisgarth has a white fence. GPS setting Lat 58.970500 Long. -2.978600

www.jogferry.co.uk operate a passenger only ferry service between John O' Groats and South Ronaldsay (May to September)
