Ivy Guest Cottage and The Bothy

Self Catering

Cluniebank Road, Braemar, Braemar, Aberdeenshire, AB35 5ZP

We offer two main self catering options, each for two people. The first is Ivy Guest Cottage; a one bedroom cottage, set over two floors. The second is The Bothy; a studio. Both are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated.

    Ivy Guest Cottage
Ivy Guest Cottage is a very comfortable and well appointed one bedroom cottage, set over two floors.  The floor area is approximately 40 metres squared.  It ajoins the Guest House on one side, but is a completely independent accommodation, with its own front and back doors, small private front and rear gardens and separate parking for one car.

The ground floor consists of a lounge/dining area with wood burning stove and Freesat television with DVD player.  There is a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment and a dishwasher.  There is a modern shower room, with quality toiletries provided.

Upstairs is a bedroom with a super king size zip and link bed. It is normally set out as a double, so please advise if you would prefer a twin configuration and we will arrange this prior to your arrival (for online bookings this can be done in the comments box of the booking form).    Please note the height of the bedroom ceiling is 2 metres in the main area, with sloping ceilings to two sides (this should not be a problem for most people, but we feel it is best to make you aware).

    The Bothy

The Bothy is a very comfortable and well appointed studio, with high ceiling and lots of natural light.  The floor area is approximately 22.5 metres squared. It ajoins the Guest House on one side, but is a completely independent accommodation, with its own entrance and separate parking for one car.  The entrance to The Bothy is near the sheltered “sitooterie”, a paved seating area with glass canopy.

The Bothy has a well equipped mini-kitchen with built in hot plates, combination-microwave oven with grill and fridge with freezer compartment.  There is a modern shower room, with quality toiletries provided.  The main room has sleeping/dining/living areas, a wood burning stove in a lovely big stone fireplace and a Freesat television with DVD player.  There is a super king size zip and link bed. It is normally set out as a double, so please advise if you would prefer a twin configuration and we will arrange this prior to your arrival (for online bookings this can be done in the comments box of the booking form).

    Road Directions

The main road to Braemar from the North (Aberdeen/Inverness) and South (Glasgow/Edinburgh) is the A93.  Follow the sign off the A93 to the village centre.  You will pass the Fife Arms on the right and the Mews (home of the Tourist Information office) on your left.  Take the first road on the left after the Mews.  This is an unnamed one-way street.  Ivy Cottage is on the right, just after the church.  Please don’t follow your Sat-Nav to Cluniebank Road as this will bring you to a grass lane leading to a gate at the end of the back garden…
